Overview
PSG began work at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in 2009 with one person. Due to the success of our performance, we have added three more Space Management Specialists working full-time at the DOT Washington, DC office.
We are assisting FMCSA in managing a $25 million program to expand, replace, or renovate existing truck and motor coach inspection facilities along the southern U.S. border in conjunction with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Project Highlights
PSG manages FMCSA’s space inventory for current and future requirements and provides consultative support and technical assistance as it relates to space management for all locations nationwide.
Our responsibilities include tracking project budgets, scheduling, and ensuring the completion of construction on time with the highest quality of construction materials and craftsmanship.
PSG develops agency specific requirements for each location, and manages the construction of agency space build-outs.
The Space Management program manages rental payments for locations throughout the U.S., feasibility studies, market surveys, land acquisitions, relocations, renovations, new building construction, inspection pits, passenger waiting areas, canopies, furniture, and all associated IT and security enhancements.
PSG’s work on plan reviews for new facilities and re-leasing actions on current facilities have resulted in a savings to FMCSA of $450,000 in one year. PSG continues to successfully plan, direct and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure accomplishments of goals and objectives within prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.
