Overview

PSG provided Project and Construction Management Services to the American Institutes for Research (AIR), a nonprofit, nonpartisan behavioral and social science research organization based in Washington, DC.  AIR has more than 1,600 employees and is one of the largest social science research organizations in the world.

PSG managed the design, construction, and IT cabling for the renovation of the office interior. The leased office space was a combination of several previous tenants constructed with 100% offices and very few open lounge areas.

Project Highlights

In order to begin construction on time, PSG put a rush on the construction permit through the city of DC. This ultimately resulted in project construction beginning and completing on time.

One of the many challenges of this project was the fast-track design and construction required to meet the aggressive schedule.  Another hurdle we faced was a project delay centered on the existing tenants vacating the space. Once that issue was resolved, PSG immediately began demolition.

Phase 1 of the construction was completed on time, allowing the client to move in before the end of the year. The Project Team’s quick reaction time resulted in completion of Phase 2 almost two weeks earlier than the anticipated goal.

PSG’s ability to respond quickly to schedule landmarks was one of the greatest accomplishments.
