Overview
The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), required a trusted partner experienced in managing the design, construction, and quality control of a Tier 3 data center.
Once on board, PSG immediately provided a positive impact by collaborating with FEMA to develop the design and construction budgets for this project. We continued to provide valuable input throughout the entire design, construction, and commissioning of the data center by working very closely with FEMA, the design team, and the contractors.
Project Highlights
“PSG provided a value-added service and helped augment our staff on our most difficult and highly technical projects.” ~Peter Marshall, FEMA, Deputy Director, Engineering Division
PSG developed the overall project plan and budget to convert the existing building into a data center with specific power density and reliability needs.
We worked within the secure site providing security-cleared personnel, Site Inspection, and ongoing Quality Assurance/Quality Control Reports.
PSG reviewed and monitored the commissioning plan to ensure that systems were adequately tested.
We provided insight into code compliance across all disciplines, and offered cost-avoidance strategies.
The project consisted of dual incoming power services, incoming voice data services, raised floor, chill water systems, site work, and exterior lighting.
PSG’s guidance on the project resulted in a project delivered on schedule and on budget. Our participation in the commissioning process helped identify and resolve system issues prior to “go live.”
